There is beauty in being consistent and having faith. The type of faith that can move mountains as someone waits with the expectation that God is listening and that in His timing, He answers those prayers according to His will. For months Pathways student, Tiffany asked her virtual mentor who lives in Utah that she would like to meet her, but due to the distance, the timing of when they would meet seemed unknown. During prayer request time at Pathways, Tiffany was persistent in asking for prayer to meet her mentor in person.

Two months ago, we received a call from Kenzie, who said she wanted to fly out to Tulsa and meet Tiffany at the Pathways Fall Carnival. This was an answered prayer, and we joyfully received her and her husband. When Tiffany first saw Kenzie, she was nervous, but the nerves did not overpower the joy. They had an incredible day together at the carnival, dancing in the dance party, dunking Kenzie in the dunk tank, petting cuddly animals at the petting zoo, checking out the fancy cars at the trunk-or-treat, but most importantly, enjoying each other’s company.

We are so thankful for volunteers like Kenzie, who constantly go above and beyond. She is consistent with mentoring once a week. She sends Tiffany encouragement e-cards, gives her excellent life advice, pays attention to what she likes, and is helping her grow in math, reading, and life skills.

We share this story with you as an encouragement to not give up on your prayers and as a moment to acknowledge how fantastic our volunteers at Pathways are.
