Last year, we asked for your help. The John Hamby Scholarship Fund was nearly empty, and students like Karla depended on it to access the education, friendship, and community that Pathways provides.
Karla’s journey has never been simple. After growing up in foster care, she now lives with a care companion, Subrina, who wanted more for Karla than isolation and idle hours. When Subrina found Pathways, she hoped it would help Karla learn and stay active. What she did not expect was the transformation she has witnessed.
Because of your generosity and support, Karla received a scholarship for a full year of Pathways that changed her daily life. She comes to Pathways eager to learn, participates with confidence, and has built friendships that bring her joy and give her a sense of belonging she never knew before. In Subrina’s words, “The growth she’s experienced far exceeds my expectations.”
