Pathways student Emily has never met a stranger in her life. She has a gift of lighting up a room with her big smile, greeting everyone with a strong handshake or hug, and showing a genuine interest in getting to know others.
As one of our more seasoned students, Emily naturally takes on the role of encourager among her friends. She’s quick to offer a hug, a listening ear, or a bit of thoughtful advice to anyone who needs it. Her compassion and kindness make her a true friend to everyone at Pathways.
For Emily, Pathways is not only a wonderful place to learn and explore new books, but it’s also where she finds connection, purpose, and joy. She loves being involved in so many activities, from choir and math club to book club, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, and even swimming. Emily also treasures her weekly meetings with her mentor, Kim. Each of these experiences gives her the chance to grow, give back, and share her joy with others.
