Karla grew up in foster care, she opened her heart to every caregiver she ever had, referring to them as “mom” or “dad.” Today, as an adult, Karla lives with an incredible adult care companion named Subrina, who she also now calls “mom.” When Subrina found Pathways, it was life-changing for Karla. Subrina tells us,“Karla is learning so much at Pathways. The growth she’s experienced far exceeds my expectations!”
Because she is able to attend a few days a week, Karla’s world has expanded. She’s found a place where she feels she belongs and has so many new friends. Karla tells us, “I love Pathways because I love being around my friends and doing art projects. I especially love worship time.”
The Hamby Scholarship Fund is what makes Karla’s attendance at Pathways possible. But right now, our scholarship fund is nearly empty.
